Do I have to switch to, or be a customer of, TXU Energy to participate in the Contest?
Yes. The TXU Energy Power Saver Challenge 2 (the “Contest”) is a skill Contest and all contestants are required to be either current TXU Energy customers or consumers who become TXU Energy customers by June 15, 2009.
What are the other requirements to enter the Contest?
You must also be a legal Texas resident at least 21 years old, who owns their own home and agree to spend the $5,000 prize money on home energy efficiency improvements. You must own a single-family home that is at least five (5) years old and is in the deregulated electricity part of the state (ERCOT territory). If selected as a Finalist, you must be available for three (3) business days (not consecutive) to have an audit and video crew in your home over the course of the Contest, which is approximately four (4) months in duration. You must also agree to work with Sponsor’s schedule to have your home audited and video recorded.
Who is not eligible to enter?
Employees, officers, directors, agents, vendors and representatives of TXU Energy Retail Company LLC, its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising/promotion agencies involved with this promotion and the immediate families (spouse, siblings, parents, children and their respective spouses) and household members of such persons are not eligible to enter.
How do I enter the Contest?
The TXU Energy Power Saver Challenge 2 Contest Entry Period (starts at 12:00:01 a.m. CT on April 1, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on June 15, 2009 (the "Contest Entry Period"). All persons who are currently TXU Energy customers or consumers who become new TXU Energy customers during the Contest Entry Period will have the opportunity to complete the entry form to be entered into the Contest.
TO ENTER THE CONTEST: To enter the Contest, visit txu.com/powersaverchallenge2 during the Contest Entry Period and complete the online entry form and complete a brief essay (between 100 and 500 words), in English or Spanish, describing why saving energy is important to you. You are also invited to submit a picture of your family in front of your home by attaching a photo to the entry form, following the instructions on-screen. Online entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. CT on June 15, 2009. Limit of one (1) entry per household for the Contest from all methods of entry combined.
How many Contestants will be selected for the Contest?
There will be fifteen (15) Semifinalists. From those fifteen (15) Semifinalists, three (3) Finalists will be chosen. Semifinalists not chosen for the Contest will each receive $100 in TXU Energy Bill Credits toward their TXU Energy electricity bill.
How will the Semifinalists be selected?
Semifinalists for the TXU Energy Power Saver Challenge 2 will be judged from all eligible entries received. Entries will be judged on: (1) appropriateness to the theme of demonstrating energy savings (50%); (2) originality, enthusiasm and creativity (25%); and (3) a demonstrated interest in becoming more energy efficient (25%). Judges’ decisions are final. Semifinalists will be notified by email or by phone on or about June 30, 2009 and will advance to Round Two. In the event of a judging panel tie, PRISM Marketing Partners will cast the deciding vote.

What are the prizes that you are giving away?
Twelve (12) Semifinalists will win $100 dollars in TXU Energy Bill Credits for electricity use in their home. The Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of this prize is $100.
Three (3) Finalists will each receive $5,000 cash which is to be spent on energy efficiency improvements during the Finalist Challenge and a high-definition video camcorder (ARV $1,000).
Additionally, one (1) Finalist will become the Grand Prize Winner and will receive $25,000 cash, one (1) Finalist will become the Second Prize Winner and will receive $5,000 cash and one (1) Finalist will become the Third Prize Winner and will receive $2,500 cash. The total ARV for the Finalists is: Grand Prize Winner $31,000, Second Prize Winner $11,000 and Third Prize Winner $8,500.
How many times may I enter?
Only one (1) entry per household is allowed.
What is the timing of the Contest entry?
The Contest Entry Period begins at 12:00:01 a.m. CT on April 1, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on June 15, 2009.
What is the timing of the Finalist Challenge of the Power Saver Challenge 2?
The three (3) Finalists will be competing to win the $25,000 Grand Prize beginning on or about July 20, 2009.
How and when will the Grand Prize Winner be chosen?
The Grand Prize Winner will be selected based on the following judging criteria: (1) improvement in HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Index based upon energy efficiency audits completed of the Finalist’s home at the beginning and end of the Finalist Challenge (as determined solely by the comparison of the initial audit and the final audit conducted by TexEnergy Solutions) (40%); (2) winner of Web voting for best Finalist Challenge (30%); and (3) personal behavior changes, documented and provided in a written format that will be provided to each Finalist (30%). The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on or about October 18, 2009.
Do I need to be present to win?
No. Potential winners will be notified by telephone or email approximately ten (10) business days after the conclusion of the Contest judging. Potential winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release to receive their prize, or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.
Can I give or transfer my position as a Semifinalist or Finalist to my friends or family?
No. Only selected household entries will be allowed to compete in the TXU Energy Power Saver Challenge 2.
Did you have this Contest last year?
Yes, the first TXU Energy Power Saver Challenge was held last year. The Hinojosa family, from Rancho Viejo, Texas, was the Grand Prize Winner.
Why was the cash prize of last year’s TXU Energy Power Saver Challenge Grand Prize $30,000 and this year the Grand Prize is only $25,000?
In evaluating the Contest, we decided that each of the Finalists deserved a cash prize for completing the Finalist Challenge. This year the Grand Prize is $25,000, the Second Place Prize is $5,000 and the Third Place Prize is $2,500.
Will there be taxes for the prizes?
Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. The tax value for the
TXU Energy Bill Credit is $100. The tax value for the Semifinalists for the high-definition camcorder and cash for home energy improvements is $6,000. The tax value of the Grand Prize award is $25,000, the tax value for Second Prize is $5,000 and the tax value of the Third Prize is $2,500.
